TV Guide: "It's up to Kevin to 'fix' the problem when Buster disturbs sleep patterns with incessant barking."

Based on the successful "The Wonder Years" episode "Buster". Narrated from Buster's point of view.
Buster, Kevin's dog, needs to get fixed but everyone keeps avoiding it. When Kevin takes him for a walk, he runs off so they all go looking for him. Then they all taking him to get fixed.

Buster hangs out in his apartment. He calls up a Chihuahua to try and get a date, and she says okay. But when she never shows up, Buster must face his defeat.

Buster must find a place to eat, because no one has come to feed him today. He roams the streets, trying to find a place to eat...stopping at an upscale Italian Restaurant, a McHarris' (a spoof of McDonald's), and a park to eat the pigeon's breadcrumbs.

Buster's friend gets hit by a bus on his way to visit Buster. Buster feels its his fault, and gets very upset. Wayne (Jason Hervey) visits to try and bring Buster's spirits up, but Buster just sits sadly on the floor. (part one)

Buster starts to raise his spirits after the death of his friend. He begins to go out with a poodle, who eventually stands him up and leaves a note, saying she's gone to another part of town. But then Winnie (Danica McKellar) finds him and brings him home.

TV Guide: "Buster is in pain and decides to go to the vet."

Buster must get pills for his severe arthritis. He can't convince Jack (Dan Lauria) to take him to the vet. So he decides to roll himself on a skateboard to the vet. But when Jack sees him on the skateboard he feels guilty and drives Buster.

Buster has awful nightmares. While walking through the town he is hunted by a dog-catcher. After waking up he goes for a walk in is really caught. Finally Norma picks him up from the home for animals and buys his first dog tag.

The Big Goodbye

based on an idea by Bob Brush & Ken Topolsky

The day Kevin and Paul leave for College Buster is very sad. Kevin can console him and tells him that he had to let go Winnie to another college. And now it's Buster's turn. Buster stays at home with Norma and Jack, knowing that Kevin will visit him often.
According to Bob Brush that's how the show should have ended after 3 seasons if it would not have been cancelled.
