This dog captured the hearts of millions. As one of
the cutest TV-dogs, Buster became a star immediately. Since his
first appearance on "The Wonder Years", TV viewers
loved him. The episode "Buster" was so popular that the
producers decided to film a special - the same episode from
Buster's view. When ABC ordered the first season Buster was one
of the most successful animal actors in Hollywood.
Today Buster lives in Madison/Wisconsin and isn't involved in TV
business anymore.
Redford is one of the most popular
and talented Hollywood actors. It was a big surprise when
he decided to give Buster his voice. As a fan of
"The Wonder Years" he was very excited to get
the possibility to take part. As he said in an interview
he "loved 'The Wonder Years' from the beginning on.
I think it's one of the most beautiful shows of our
decade. When I heard that the producer planned a special
I was really interested. It's a great and very funny idea
to make an entire show about a dog."
When ABC decided to produce a whole season Redford had to
leave. "Unfortunately I just don't have the time to
join the cast for a whole season or more" he said to
the LA Times. Insiders guess that ABC also wasn't willing
to pay enough.
Everyone knows Picardo as Kevin Arnold's Gym Teacher
in Junior High ("The Wonder Years") or as The
holographic Doctor aboard Star Trek's "Voyager".
The first season of "Buster's Town" started at the same
time like "The Wonder Years" fifth year. So Picardo
wasn't a returning character anymore since Kevin now went to High
School.
Impressed by his acting abilities the producers decided to engage
the popular actor. Also the "Wonder Years" fans loved
their decision most TV viewers missed Redford. "This role
was so funny" Picardo said after the show was cancelled.
"I loved Daniel Stern's work [voice of Adult Kevin] on
"The Wonder Years" and now I got the chance to do
something comparable".
The popular actors from "The Wonder Years", Fred Savage (Kevin Arnold), Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper), Josh Saviano (Paul Pfeiffer), Dan Lauria (Jack Arnold), Alley Mills (Norma Arnold) and Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold), all had or should have had guest appearances on "Buster's Town". The episodes featuring at least one of them were highly acclaimed and successful among the fans.
